So Brett Favre went ahead with his surgery on his ankle?  Yep, #4 confirmed that on his website Friday.  Great!  That means another year of Packers-Vikings rivalry cranked up at epic levels.  However, I think this is the Packers year.  I predict Aaron Rodgers beats Brett twice, Green Bay wins the division easily, and the Pack face the Cowboys in the NFC Championship game.  How about that prediction on May 21st!

As for the Brewers, their latest pitching debacle happened Friday night at Target Field.  Dave Bush had a first inning meltdown, the Twins scored seven runs after a 3-2 pitch to Michael Cuddyer was called ball four to walk in a run.  The usually reserved Dave Bush had a heated exchange with the home plate umpire.  The best thing that could have happened to the Brewers would have been if Bush got tossed, instead he stayed in the game, and gave up six more runs.  When your starting pitcher lasts 1/3 of an inning, that destroys your bullpen!   The Brewers are ten games below .500.  I give this team two more weeks to try and turn things around, after that, they need to consider trading Prince Fielder.  There is no way that Mark Attanasio will give him $20 million a year, similar to what the Phillies Ryan Howard got in his new contract.  And if you're Fielder, why would he want to stay in Milwaukee?  He is destined to play for the Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers, or even the Yankees.

Back to the Pack.  OTA's are underway and already some NFL experts (Peter King) have jumped on the bandwagon and are anointing the Packers as going to the Super Bowl.  I don't disagree.  Aaron Rodgers is ready to lead this team to the title.  The pieces are in place, and if the defense improves, the skies the limit.  I like this team.  The addition of Bryan Bulaga to bolster the offensive line, putting Ryan Pickett and B.J. Raji together on the defensive line (along with Cullen Jenkins), makes that d-line potentially "scary-good."  If the o-line protects Rodgers, this team could win 12-13 games.   They are so talented offensively, and look for tight end Jermichael Finley to be an all-pro.  With the receivers they have, Ryan Grant, and #12.  Look out!

I think Brett Favre playing again at his age and health is like the duggars having their 20th baby. Makes the IRS happy, though.
