Cavaliers hold off military all-stars for 4-3 win
A three-run first inning helped the Eau Claire Cavaliers hang on for a 4-3 win over the U.S. Military All-Star team Tuesday night. With the win, the Cavs are now 35-17 on the season.

A three-run first inning helped the Eau Claire Cavaliers hang on for a 4-3 win over the U.S. Military All-Star team Tuesday night.

Lance Poppy drove in two of Eau Claire's runs in the first inning, smacking a base hit to right, scoring Ty Fadness and Ben Kincaid to give the Cavs a 3-2 lead.

Aside from the on-field action, the game also helped raise money for the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Additionally, $2.00 from eveyr ticket purchased was given as a donation to support the military all-stars, who are on their 20th year of touring the country.

With the win, the Cavs are now 35-17 on the season. Eau Claire will be back on the diamond Saturday, when they travel to face the Janesville Aces . First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
