This past weekend the Eau Claire Cavaliers wrapped up their season with a pair of wins at Carson Park ending another successful year for the club.

Ty Fadness says, "If you can't tell we are having fun, their is something wrong."

The Cavs have plenty of other reasons to consider their 41st season a success. They finish with a 35-14 record with five players earning all-star honors in the Wisconsin State League.

"It was one of my goals four years ago to get more local players involved." says Manager Mark McHorney. " I think we have accomplished that and i think we have show we can win with those local players."

First year Cav John Ewald enjoyed his first season with the Cavs, "it's been great getting to know the guys , and new faces, some of the guys i play with in my conference at Stout.."

Even with another 30-plus win season, the Cavaliers would finish second in the Wisconsin State League standings to Lombard.
But the players like Ty Fadness say the experience, not the stats, make this season an enjoyable one. " Overall the highlight would be the Manitowoc series, because it got really heated and we ended up coming back to beat them three times in a row ... Sticking it to them."

Although the players admit they're ready for a break from baseball ...
... it won't be long before the boys of summer return to Carson Park.

Nick Degen says, "it's good playing with guys from other towns we played against, like Treysen from Menomonie and Mcilquham."

John Ewald added, "I'd love to come back ... Probably the most fun I've ever had playing baseball."
