Downtown Eau Claire was busy Saturday as Summerfest was in full swing. Summerfest started at ten in the morning and ran until ten Saturday night. There was food, live music, a car show and family night in the park.
Chalkfest coincides with Summerfest at Wilson Park as well. Event organizers say the event is a great way to showcase Eau Claire's downtown area. Baststow Street was packed as people and kids enjoyed the day.
Chains and heavy weights were among the music, food and fun at this year's Summerfest. It was part of a new attraction the strong man competition.
People from all over the Midwest were at Summerfest competing with all sorts of heavy objects trying to get to the national competition.
The strongman competition ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the awards at 4:15.
The last concert for summer fest starts at 7 p.m.
