Downtown Eau Claire was busy Saturday as Summerfest was in full swing. Summerfest started at ten in the morning and ran until ten Saturday night. There was food, live music, a car show and family night in the park.

Chalkfest coincides with Summerfest at Wilson Park as well. Event organizers say the event is a great way to showcase Eau Claire's downtown area. Baststow Street was packed as people and kids enjoyed the day.

Chains and heavy weights were among the music, food and fun at this year's Summerfest. It was part of a new attraction the strong man competition.

People from all over the Midwest were at Summerfest competing with all sorts of heavy objects trying to get to the national competition.

The strongman competition ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the awards at 4:15.

The last concert for summer fest starts at 7 p.m.

I enjoyed the Car Show and festivities. The only thing I did not enjoy was the fact that people were allowed to walk their dogs among the busy roads. I noticed several dogs being aggressive and was worried about the dogs fighting and someone getting hurt. We did see one dog fight and they knocked over some vendor items. Also tickets for the food stand should have been by the food also. Also, no riding bicycles in the show area would have been a good idea.
