Two area technical colleges are mentioned in Washington Monthly magazine's list of America's 50 best community colleges.

Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is number six on the list, and Chippewa Valley Technical College is number 10.

The magazine uses data from a non-profit group's survey from 2007 until 2009, and the federal Department of Education's graduation rates.

The data takes active and collaborative learning, interaction with faculty, and support for learners into account.
