In Eau Claire Sunday, about 600 people made it to Half Moon Lake and the chance to enter the water. And raise some $90,000.00 for the Special Olympics.
Event organizer Andrea Sullivan of Eau Claire Special Olympics says participants were encouraged only to dip a toe in a kiddie pool because of the harsh conditions: temperatures around five below zero and wind chills around 30 degrees below zero.
Sullivan says they conferred with medical doctors prior to Sunday's event, and told participants to be careful about conditions.
