(WEAU) - Some area restaurants were donating some of their profits to a free clinic Thursday night.
The Meet to Eat for the Free Clinic event features 11 participating restaurants in Chippewa County. 25% of each bill was donated to the Open Door Clinic in Chippewa Falls. Last year, $10,000 was raised.
Open Door Clinic Board President Roberta Rasmus told us “In 2011, we saw 2,500 individual patient visits and 5,760 prescriptions to patents for free so we do a lot of hard work and it's great to have the support from the community.”
The Open Door Clinic is located at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Chippewa Falls. It provides basic health care services to the uninsured at the clinic on Tuesday evenings.
The View, Duncan Creek, High Shores Supper Club, Chippewa Family Restaurant, Latigo and Lace, Lucy's Delicatessen, The Lodge Saloon and Restaurant, Old Abe's Supper Club, Horizon's, Harpole's Supper Club and Harm's Way all participated in the fundraiser.
