Kids in Eau Claire today had a chance to sharpen their skiing skills. The "Flying Eagles Ski Club" hosted their annual "Learn to Ski Program" at the Mount Washington Ski Complex.
Children ages 4 to 15 showed up and were shown the fundamentals of skiing.
The club made sure there was enough snow on the ground at the complex, despite the lack of snow this year.
"Learn to Ski" event organizers say they hope this program will help kids grow from basic downhill skiers into more accomplished skiers.
Event organizer, Dan Mattoon says "All of our coaches that are here, we all help teach kids how to ski and hopefully they progress into being little ski jumpers and someday national champion".
Andrew Urlaub, a skier, says "Well, it's really close to home and it has really nice jumps, really nice people to help you."
Ski organizers say around 100 kids showed up to this year's event.
