Halloween times and events


*Trick or Treat is on Halloween, October 31, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.


*Downtown Trick or Treat will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 3-5pm.

*Residential 5-7pm.

*The Hallie Optimist Club will host its Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Hallie Town Hall. The party is from 4-7 p.m. Food includes free hot dogs and chips, nacho cheese, cookies and apple cider.
There is a costume contest with prizes, Blue Moon DJ will be entertaining and everyone gets a goodie bag! Bring the little monsters and sweethearts in for an early Halloween good time!

*Residential from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

*The University will have Trick-or-Treating as well. Towers, Chancellors, Oak Ridge, Bridgman, Murray, Sutherland and Governors residence halls will be open for door-to-door trick-or-treating from 5-7:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Students offering candy will have signs on their doors to indicate that trick-or-treaters are welcome. Lobby-only trick-or-treating will be offered in Putnam Hall on lower campus and Horan Hall on upper campus. A free family-friendly haunted house will be hosted from 5-7:30 p.m. in Sutherland Hall. Sutherland also will accept nonperishable food items for their food drive during that time.

*The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library will have a Halloween storytime. Families are encouraged to don their Halloween costumes when they attend the library's annual Halloween Storytime. This storytime program is geared for ages 3 through 5. Stories, songs and fun activities begin at 10:15 a.m. on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31, in the Eau Claire Room. A costume parade and trick-or-treating through the library will follow. Refreshments will be served. No registration is necessary.



*Residential Trick or Treating will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 4-8p.m.

*The City of La Crosse Parks and Recreation is holding the 5th Annual Copeland Park's "Field of Screams" event which takes place on October 26th, 2012 from 5-8pm. The event will be held at Logger's Field and will offer many fun activities for kids including: a haunted maze, inflatables from The Big Event Company, face painting, cooking s'mores, trick-or-treating, a NEW feature performance by the Magic of Isaiah, a performance by Misty's Dance Unlimited, and much more! This is a free event which includes registration for several door prizes, including a dance party at Misty's Dance Unlimited, and a grand prize featuring a party for four at Shenanigan's!



*The annual north campus trick-or-treat celebration hosted by University of Wisconsin-Stout residence halls will once again be held in a safe and secure environment.

The event for community children will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30. Children are encouraged to don costumes and visit Jeter-Tainter-Callahan, Fleming, Hovlid, Wigen and Red Cedar halls for treats and fun.

The five residence halls are on Broadway Street between First and Fourth avenues. Red Cedar Hall is on Second Street, between First and Third avenues.
