Restaurant donates proceeds to Jason’s Presents

(WEAU) - People got a chance to enjoy some good food, for a good cause Monday.

All the proceeds from the Chippewa Family Restaurant Monday were donated to the Jason's Presents Program. The program gives gifts to local, less fortunate children during the holiday season.

Jason's Presents was named in honor of Deputy Jason Zunker, who was killed in the line of duty and was in the process of revitalizing the program.

Last year, organizers were able to raise more than $13,000. Thomas Eder with the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department told WEAU "we served 300 children and it just gives you a good feeling to be able to do that for children in the community that have less at Christmas time."

Local law enforcement, fire and EMS teams served beverages at the restaurant Monday.
