Sorority does Teeter Totter-A-Thon for Autism Speaks

(WEAU) - It was a full day of childhood fun for a good cause for one Eau Claire sorority.

The women of Alpha Xi Delta at UW-Eau Claire wrapped up their 8th Annual Teeter Totter-A-Thon for charity. The sisters began taking turns teeter tottering Tuesday at noon and continued until noon Wednesday, raising money for Autism Speaks.

The president of the sorority, Hilary stone, says the cause means a lot to the group. "It feels amazing. I'm so proud of my sorority and everything that we do. We have some girls who actually have family members who have autism, so we like to support the cause," stone told us.

Over the past seven years, the sorority has raised more than $40,000 for a variety of local causes through the Teeter Totter-A-Thon.
