Spring clean-up for downtown Eau Claire

(WEAU) - The clean-up event was hosted by Valleybrook Church and downtown Eau Claire Incorporated.

Organizers say around 400 volunteers spread out across downtown sweeping sidewalks, pulling weeds and picking up litter.

"We work down here, we play down here, we live down here so anything we can do to help out downtown Eau Claire and make it look better and we’re all about," said volunteer Sam Johnson from Jamf Software.

Volunteers were made up of folks from local businesses and churches in the downtown area.

The sidewalk sweepers have opened up some pretty big cracks in the sidewalks downtown. Hopefully the city is paying attention to the fact that they need to be filled.
