Temporary hours change to county offices

NEWS RELEASE FROM EAU CLAIRE COUNTY:

Eau Claire County will be temporarily changing the business hours of the County offices and all offices located in the Eau Claire County Courthouse, as well as the Ag Center in Altoona, due to the 10 week demolition on the 3rd floor of the courthouse, followed by courthouse remodeling, lasting another 6 weeks.

During the demolition & the 1st phase of remodeling from August 6th to November 30, 2012 the County Courthouse office business hours will be temporarily changed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Noise created by the demolition & initial stages of remodeling will make it extremely difficult to conduct business in the Courthouse after 3:30 p.m.

The Register of Deeds office will record documents until 3:00 p.m.

The Clerk of Courts office will be closed to the public from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., although papers will be received for filing until 3:30
p.m.

The Ag Center in Altoona hours will also be affected during this time frame due to the close working relation between county staff located at both locations, and also to avoid confusion to the general
public served by both county facilities.

County Administrator Tom McCarty notes that: “The County Board has worked with the courthouse remodeling contractors & County staff to continue to provide access to county services for community members by temporarily changing the courthouse office hours during this next phase of the county building project.”
