United Way developing community mobilization effort

(WEAU) - An area non-profit group is asking for your input on how it can serve the Chippewa Valley.

It's all part of a community mobilization effort by the United Way of the Chippewa Valley. The United Way will be looking at the issues people in Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire value, and then it will use that data to create a community action plan. The group says it hopes to have a plan within the year.

Executive Director with the United Way Jan Porath told us Monday “the people that donate those dollars also have that opportunity to have a voice as to how those dollars are used in the community so we find that important, and also to lend that credibility that the dollars raised here stay here and are working towards what we want to see.”

Porath says the information gathering process will run from Tuesday to the end of July. A series of 10 meetings is planned.
