(WEAU) - "We've been working diligently with our seniors for the entire year," said Bethany Henthorn of UW-Stout Career Services.
According to UW-Stout's Annual Employment Rate Report, about 98 percent of graduates last year either had a job or chose to continue their education.
At U-W Stout some seniors say that they do in fact have jobs lined up for when they graduate, whether it’s part-time or full-time related to their field.
Elizabeth Mendoza is one of them, and says she applied for a job in the retail industry back in September, and landed one at Kohl's.
"Kohl’s is one of our big recruiters at Stout so I just applied and interviewed with them and I made it through the final interview process. I actually got the offer in November," said Elizabeth Mendoza who majored in Retail Merchandizing Management.
Bethany Henthorn of Career Services says some seniors are struggling but not many.
"We've seen some here that haven't landed that job where we can start to see the stress a little," said Henthorn.
Some seniors have even chosen not to go for the job but rather the direction of Grad School.
"I really thought it would help me with my career objectives, I've always wanted to further my career and I was really excited to be the first person in my family to actually attend college, so I thought I would take it to the next step and attend grad school," said Kelsy Gaida who majored in Psychology.
Last year's employment report also shows the average salary for new graduates at UW-Stout is about 37 thousand dollars.
"It's nice to know that the four years I went through school is exactly what I'm going be doing," said Mendoza.
"We'll help them as long as they need us, once a student always a student," said Henthorn.
