EAU CLAIRE, Wis-- Every five minutes there is a traffic crash in Wisconsin. Tragically, every 16 hours one of those crashes is fatal.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says in 2013, 500 people were killed in crashes and more than 3,000 were injured.
State Patrol Captain Jeff Frenette says the cause of most crashes officers see is human error. The three most common choices people make; driving drunk, texting or distracted driving and speeding.
