For some people there will come a time in life when you lose something that can never be replaced, and when you make the choice to use that experience to help make other people stronger, it should be acknowledged. A close family friend of ours lost his 8 year old son, Dakota, due to natural causes. To help support other families dealing with life changing situations he began to put together organizations and events to raise money for Special Olympics. Whether it’s getting a group of 30 people to raise money for the Polar Plunge (Dakota’s Bubba Ride), putting together a yearly horse ride known as the Bubba Ride, or even putting together a haunted trail during Halloween, there is never a time when he shows his pain or sadness. He is someone we could use more of in the world and has helped out multiple people in unbelievable ways. It can be hard to find someone that will put so much effort and time into something to help other people the way he does.
“Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others. If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader and I believe any leader should be recognized.”
