I wanted to tell you about a very special person who works at Gordy's County Market Downtown location in Chippewa. I took our 7 yr old son Trevor, grocery shopping with me early one morning. Trevor carried my car keys and my cell phone for me, because I had no pockets. Trevor also had a $5 bill in his pocket, that he worked hard to earn on grandpa's farm. He was planning on buying some gum for him and his brothers.
When we were shopping, my cell phone rang. When Trevor was removing my cell phone from his pocket, his $5 bill had fallen out, but neither of us had noticed it until we were at the checkout. Trevor was almost in tears realizing that he had lost his $5 bill that he had worked so hard for. We searched all over, but never found it. Pam Lythjohan, noticed what had happened, and having grandchildren of her own, felt so awful for him. Pam reached into her own pocket and gave Trevor another $5 bill of her own money. She insisted that he take it, and use it as his own money. After much coaxing, he accepted it. He even tried to give her the change, but she refused it. She said that the money may or may not show up, and she didn't mind. She also would not let me give her money in return. Pam Lythjohan is an angel with so much kindness and a very big heart.
A week later when we returned to the store, Pam told me that someone did find the $5 bill. Pam and Trevor are good pals now. Not enough people in the world today are like Pam and would have done what she did. We are very grateful for Pam and cannot thank her enough for her act of kindness.
