BILL & SANDY FLICK AND JEFF & LORI HANSON
We would like to nominate Bill and Sandy Flick, and Jeff and Lori Hanson for the Sunshine Award. They are there whenever you need something or just need to talk. Both of them would give you the shirt off their backs to help out.
Bill Flick is retired from the muffler plant and is a part-time janitor at the Alma Center High School. Sandy Flick is a housewife and up until a few years ago was the sole caregiver for her mother who was suffering from Alzheimer’s. They have also been foster parents to a lot of kids.
They have also raised three kids of their own and have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jeff Hanson has worked for the Ashley Furniture Company for many years. He was also in the National Guard. Lori Hanson was a CAN and worked at Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls for many years. She has raised two kids and helped raise many more. They have one granddaughter and another grandchild on the way.
Both couples were there when our father died. It has been a very hard time for us and they have been a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen when we needed to talk. They are the type of people that give you advice but don’t tell you what to do, so you see, they really deserve this award.
