Mike Cianciolo joined WEAU as a Sports Reporter/Anchor in August 2017 from their sister station KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana where he was a Sports Anchor/Reporter for just over a year.
Growing up in Pewaukee, Wisconsin he had dreams of becoming a professional athlete. He played soccer and ran track in high school for the Pewaukee Pirates, but realized quickly that becoming a sports broadcaster was the best route for him to continue his passion for all things sports.
Mike graduated from Marquette University in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast & Electronic Communication. As a sophomore, he was Sports Director of the student television station, MUTV. He moved up to Assistant Sports Director of student media his junior year. As a senior, Mike worked for Marquette University's athletics department as a Video Production Assistant.
While earning his undergrad in Milwaukee, Mike was a production intern for Spectrum Sports (then Time Warner Cable SportsChannel) and a sports intern for WISN-TV. He also worked as a freelancer doing social media for WISN-TV’s seasonal show “Big 12 Sports Saturday” in the fall of 2015.
Mike is thrilled to be back in the great state of Wisconsin covering the Chippewa Valley for SportScene 13 and of course, the Green Bay Packers. If you want to share a story idea or talk sports with Mike, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
