To assist the lead Child Care Teacher in carrying out a daily program, in prescribed areas, designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of a group of children according to established policies, procedures and objectives.
Special Features/Requirements (license, certificates, etc.):
Must be 18 years of age; must have satisfactorily completed or be enrolled in 40 hours of training approved by the State of Wisconsin; within 1 year of assuming the position and each subsequent year, 15 or 25 additional hours of training in early childhood or school age education as approved by the State of Wisconsin depending on number of hours scheduled in program; must be trained in emergency procedures and use of first aid; must be CPR certified; follows/adheres to organization, Federal/State Regulations and Guidelines, including Resident/Client Rights; maintains neat, well groomed appearance, adhering to dress code of organization/program. Verification of recent physical (and TB skin test) to be on file within 30 days of employment.
• Assist with planning and implementing daily activities for the children
• Supervise children’s play activities
• Maintain assigned progress records
• Preparation of children’s snacks
• First aid
• Account record keeping
• Work within the guidelines established by State of Wisconsin for licensed child care provider.
• Maintains communication with parents
Physical Requirements (based on essential functions): Occasionally lifts and carries 5 pounds or less; frequently twists, stoops, bends, kneels; frequently reaches above, at or below shoulder height; occasionally walks on uneven ground; climbs stairs, crawls; 50% of work day spent walking, 40% standing, 10% sitting. Must be able to communicate orally and/or in writing with residents, coworkers, families, public.
