Job Description

Chippewa County is accepting applications for a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician II position within the Department of Administration – Facilities and Parks Division.

The job duties of the Facilities Maintenance Technician II include but are not limited to perform corrective maintenance (CM), preventative maintenance (PM) and emergency maintenance on a wide variety of equipment within the facilities & grounds.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in building systems, HVAC/R technology, electrical technology, mechanical technology, industrial instrumentation or other closely related field OR a one (1) year technical diploma in a closely related field with four (4) years of recent related experience in building controls and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment required. Experience or training in refrigeration and boiler maintenance required. Refrigeration recovery license required within twelve (12) months of date of hire. Must be able to read construction plans, blueprints, and electrical schematics. Must be available for emergency duty on a 24-hour basis. A valid driver’s license and cell phone required.

Wage:
$20.03 - $22.04 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Position may be eligible for an annual pay increase based on performance.

Benefits:
Security Health Plan provider options include a high deductible plan ($2,000 for an individual and $4,000 for a family) and a low deductible plan ($500 for an individual and $1,500 for a family) with monthly premiums ranging from $0 per month to $11 for an individual and $0 per month to $30 for a family. Wisconsin Retirement System contributions of 6.7% with a 6.7% company match. Dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending, and disability insurance offered. Generous PTO program of 6.16 hours of PTO earned per pay period (26 pay periods in a year).
