EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- Monday would have been Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 89th birthday and the City of Eau Claire will take time to pay respect to the national icon.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is present at the Civil Rights March in Washington D.C. on August 28, 1963.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance Day event will be held at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Doors open around 5:30 p.m. and the event will start at 6 p.m.
Dr. Selika Ducksworth-Lawton, a UW-Eau Claire professor of history and the event director, joined WEAU’s Jesse Horne to talk about the event.
