STANLEY, Wis. (WEAU) With no homework or reading assignments, it can be easy for students to get rusty brains over the summer months.

But one local elementary school is working to avoid that this year by putting books into the hands of students.

Gordy's Guru Matt Selvig and WEAU's Nikki Junewicz were thrilled to surprise Stanley Boyd Elementary as our latest Schools Rule! contest winner.

Tuesday they received $3,000 in Box Tops for Education, courtesy of General Mills.

Fifth grade teacher Andrea Mahr will use the money to fill up a brand new "bookmobile" which will travel throughout the district this summer, acting as a "library on wheels."

The goal is for students to read one book per week.

"When they come to the bookmobile they get a free book as one of the incentives and prize and so we're trying to build our home libraries with books that are interesting to the kids to get as many into their hands as we can," explains Mahr.

A big congrats to Stanley-Boyd Elementary!
