NOON AND 4PM INTERVIEW: Rock the Riverfront

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)— News Release:
Eau Claire, WI – Registration is open for the RCU Foundation Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic. The event is a community favorite and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever. Rock the Riverfront takes place on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in downtown Eau Claire’s Phoenix Park, and includes a 10K and 2 mile run/walk, ½ and ¼ mile youth races, “No-K” for non-runners, music, family games, and food trucks. Registration is available online or in person at any Royal Credit Union office.

The day begins with the 10K run/walk at 9 a.m., followed by the 2 mile run/walk at 10:30 a.m. At 11:00 a.m. the “No-K” activity takes places, followed by the ½ mile and ¼ mile youth races that take place at 11:15 a.m. and 11:25 a.m., respectively. After the races, participants can plan to spend the day in Phoenix Park with music, a variety of food trucks, and many family activities, including inflatables, face painting, a cash wind booth, and more.

Registration for the 10K and 2 mile is $35 from to June 19, and $40 after June 19. Registration for the “No-K” is $20 and the children’s races are $10 now through race day. New this year, the event has added team options. Participants will receive a custom shirt with team name and the largest team will win a prize. Team registration is charged on a per-person basis.

Registered participants will receive a free t-shirt, meal ticket, and one free charity vote. Proceeds for the event will go to our three partner charities: King’s Closet, Literacy Chippewa Valley, and Whitehall Public Library. Registered participants will receive one free vote at the time of registration; additional votes can be purchased at $2 each. The charity with the most votes will receive $15,000, second place will receive $7,500, and third will receive $5,000.
