Shrine Circus kicks off today in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The biggest show in town is finally here! Families of all ages have the chance to see acrobats, clowns and tigers up close! The 71st Annual Mehara Shrine Circus is back in the Chippewa Valley.

Kids can experience laughter and wonder from elephants, aerialists, and more! There will also be a special bike giveaway at every show thanks to Scheel's, the Dunn County Sheriff's Department and Eau Claire County Sheriff's Department. The event is one of the biggest fundraiser's of the year for the shrine club.

Bruce Fransway of President of Mehara Shrine Club says, "There's not that many circus's around anymore and have elephants and the kids can ride elephants. There's tigers and everything else along with the other acts and it’s something you don't see every day."

Shows will be Carson Park in Eau Claire today and tomorrow at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. Then at the Dunn County Ice Arena Fairgrounds Thursday. Pick up your tickets at any Kwik Trip in Eau Claire or Chippewa Falls, in Menomonie at Dicks Market or Culvers.
