ST. CROIX COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- A 16-year-old girl has died as a result of injuries she suffered in a traffic crash in Richmond Township, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff.

Sheriff Scott Knudson said the crash happened just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 11 at the intersection of County Road G and 140th Street.

The sheriff said 16-year-old Megan Bennig of New Richmond was going southbound on 140th Street. When she entered the intersection, she was hit by semi driven by 19-year-old Weston Gray of Centuria.

Bennig died from her injuries. Gray was not hurt.
