According to police, workers were dropping off construction equipment at the lot on Tuesday when they spotted what they believed was a body. They called police and officers arrived on the scene around 12:30 p.m.

Police say officers found the body of a white woman who was likely in her 50s when she died. Medical personnel pronounced her dead.

Investigators have not positively identified the woman. Police added her name will not be released until a next of kin has been notified.

A resident of the neighborhood told Gray affiliate WIBW the building was torn down last month. He also said the building used to be the location of Brown Laboratory, which he said closed years ago, and has been vacant for a while.
