A Time to Share Program

ALTOONA, Wis. (WEAU) -- With giving Tuesday under belts and the holidays just around the corner it's time to stop thinking of ourselves and be in the spirit of giving. Now you have the chance to help those in need.

Counselor Brooke Kaldor with the Altoona School District along with High School Senior, Student Council President Emily Studinski joined Hello Wisconsin to talk more about the "A Time to Share Program."

The School Counselors at the School District of Altoona, annually coordinate the A Time to Share Program. This program helps families in need within the school district with presents at Christmas time for their children. We work in conjunction with the Altoona High School Student Council to shop for 2 wish list items and a clothing gift card to provide for each student who is helped through our program. Every year we talk about how we could get this information out to community members to assist with asking for potential donations to help fund this program. Last year we had requests from 86 families with a total of 204 students so we have a large number of students we try to assist. The student council members, student council advisors and the school counselors will be shopping together on Dec. 8th to purchase these items.

Those interested in helping to send funds can send a check to the Altoona School District.
