Animal on the road causes rollover crash

TOWN OF JEFFERSON, Wis. (WEAU) -- A man was sent to the hospital following a rollover crash in Vernon County on Wednesday.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, John Jones, of Viroqua, was driving southbound on County Road B in the Town of Jefferson when an unknown animal ran in front of his car. Jones swerved to avoid hitting the animal, causing him to lose control and his car to enter the ditch and roll on its side.

The sheriff’s office said Jones was ejected through the passenger side window. He was taken to the hospital for undisclosed injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
