BLOOMER, Wis. (WEAU) -- Several Bloomer High School students opted for a different mode of transportation Thursday.

The school's FFA chapter held a Drive your Tractor to School Day.

More than fifteen students drove their families' tractors to and from school.

Kyle Hilger, the school's FFA president, had heard about the event and wanted to bring it to Bloomer High School.

Hilger says seeing all the tractors at the school Thursday brought a big smile to his face.

"I think it's really cool that we can do that, really promote agriculture. It gives kids the chance, who grow up on local farms or work at family farms, to come here and show that part of agriculture and like to promote it," said Hilger.

Hilger says he hopes to hold the event again next year.
