The “Walk For Virtues” took place Friday afternoon at the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center. Students from Immaculate Conception, St. James, and St. Mary's elementary schools walked a three-mile route to raise money for their schools.
Organizers say the kids are always excited to participate in the annual event.
“The kids pledge 3 miles. They get money for us to get those things that aren't budgeted and it's also illustrates our quality of education, parents, and grandparents are here walking with use today as well,” Renee Cassidy with Regis Catholic Schools said to WEAU 13 News on Friday.
The money raised from the walk will be used for various projects at the elementary schools. School leaders say in the past the event has raised up to $50,000.
