Club packing 30K meals for those in need in Chippewa Valley

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local club is encouraging community members to team up in the fight against hunger.

Area rotary clubs are hosting the meal packing event at the local lounge in Eau Claire until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Organizers say "Kids Against Hunger" are providing the raw materials. Volunteers are working to pack up 30,000 meals to be distributed across the Chippewa Valley.

“They'll go to Feed My People Food Bank so, it will serve their 14-county area so it will go to family and kids in need in the area so all the meals do stay local right here,” said Andy Neborak, president of Chippewa Valley After Hours Rotary.

"Kids Against Hunger" is brought to the area in a partnership between the Menomonie and Chippewa Valley After Hours Rotary.
