CHIPPEWA CO., Wis. (WEAU)-- Motorists can expect delays due to road work starting Monday in Chippewa County.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin an improvement project on Highway 29 between Elk Mound and Chippewa Falls.

The department says there will be single lane closures but 29 will remain open at all times during construction.

The improvements include lane turn extensions, putting in curbs and gutters, and new signs.

Construction is scheduled from September 11 through October.

The $300,000 project is funded with federal and state transportation dollars.
