Convicted sex offender to be released in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A convicted sex offender is scheduled to be released temporarily in Eau Claire.

Police say Matthew Hoyt, 34, will be released from prison on Tuesday, March 13. Police say Hoyt will be under the supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

He was convicted of second degree sexual assault of a child in 2007.

Hoyt will be residing at a DOC monitored residence on the 100 block of Randall Street; however, his placement there is temporary and the DOC is working on finding long-term placement for him.
