Council approves task force related to "Public Good Order" ordinance

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A proposed change to the Eau Claire's "Public Good Order" ordinance was postponed until the city manager decides to bring it back to the council.

While the ordinance is postponed, the city council did pass a resolution Tuesday night to form a neighborhood safety and relations task force to address proposed changes and make recommendations to the "Public Good Order" ordinance.

Monday night, community members voiced their opinions regarding the changes, with many arguing for a delay on the vote.

The ordinance changes would have included fines for public intoxication, public disruption, changes to bus and shuttle services, and more.
