Homicide investigation underway in St. Croix County

ST. CROIX COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- One person is in custody as part of a homicide investigation in St. Croix County.

Just after 4 a.m. Saturday, April 14, the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office and the New Richmond Police Department responded to a 911 call in Richmond Township for a report of a man with a gunshot wound.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office, life saving efforts were performed by a witness at the scene.

Law enforcement found 19-year-old Chase Fleischauer of St. Paul, Minnesota with a gunshot wound to the head. He died at the scene.

Deputies said the death is ruled a homicide.

An initial investigation shows this was a domestic related incident.

One person is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies said they found a 19-year-old man dead from suspicious circumstances.

According to the sheriff's office, this is not a random act and there is no threat to the public at this time.

One person is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
