Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors supports hosting Farm Technology Days in 2020

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution Tuesday night in support of the county hosting Farm Technology Days in 2020.

One of the criteria used to select a host county is support of the Board of Supervisors.

In order to serve as the host county, Farm Technology Days requires a commitment of $20,000 in start-up funding.

The money will be refunded to the county if the event meets its revenue targets.

Based on past years, potential profits from the show range between $100,000 and $175,000, as well a big boost to area businesses.

"Any time you can look at $1.2 or $1.8 million in economic impact anytime you look at having 60,000 people come to our community over a 3 day period is exciting," said Eau Claire County UW-Extension Agent Mark Hagedorn.

The last time the event was hosted in Eau Claire County was 1992.
