Eau Claire man enters plea for 10th OWI

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An Eau Claire man charged with his 10th OWI has pleaded guilty.
Court records show Leo Owen,59, entered the plea in Eau Claire County Court Thursday.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says Owen was driving near the intersection of Clairemont Avenue and Otter Road in May when he crashed into a guard rail in Eau Claire. The criminal complaint says a trooper smelled intoxicants and saw a bottle of vodka sitting between the front seats of Owen’s vehicle. The State Patrol says multiple driving complaints were called in on Owen’s vehicle prior to the crash.

A sentencing date for Owen has not been scheduled.
