EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- An Eau Claire native who's running for Lieutenant Governor kicked off his state tour Wednesday in the Chippewa Valley.

Democrat Corban Gehler spoke about his campaign at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.

Gehler said he'll guide Wisconsin by the values of integrity, responsibility, and generosity.

He said his focus includes education, health care, infrastructure, and the environment.

Gehler said the voices of Wisconsinites needs to be heard.

"Many are working two to three jobs and worried about how they're going to cover health care costs, education costs are rising and when you're living pay check to pay check one little accident can really cause a family to struggle," said Corban Gehler.

A primary is scheduled for August 14. The general election is November 6.
