HOLMEN, Wis. (WEAU) -- People in Holmen have a new place to go for health care.

Gundersen Health System opened a new primary care clinic Monday in the Holmen Square shopping center.

It offers family medicine, treatment for illness and injuries, and lab and x-ray services.

Gundersen says the clinic is going to serve a community that's quickly growing.

"A lot of our Gundersen patients already come from the Holmen area, so we have taken in their comments and suggestions and so it will help bring care closer to home, which is what we really strive to do at Gundersen," said Heidi Powell, Regional Clinic Manager. "But hopefully it will also bring a little more convenient access to patients who we may not be serving already in the Gundersen walls."

Gundersen says the clinic will employ 12 people, and it's still looking to hire one more provider.
