Opening day of the Northern Wisconsin State Fair

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- It is the opening day of the Northern Wisconsin State Fair.

The fair runs from July 11- 15 in Chippewa Falls. Doors open Wednesday at 11 a.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-11.

Events on Wednesday include pig, duck and goat races; the Green Bay Packer Tundra Line; and a pedal tractor pull.

WEAU 13 News will be live at the fair at noon, four, five and six.

Fair Traffic Alert

Chippewa Falls Police are letting the public know of a traffic alert near the fairgrounds this year.

New for the fair this year, Edward Street from Highway124/Jefferson Ave to Prentice Street will be one way from 4 p.m. -7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Also, there will be free parking and shuttle service located at Chippewa Area Youth Hockey Arena (839 1st Avenue) and Mason Companies Parking Lot (just behind the hockey arena) on Wednesday, July 11 - Saturday, July 14 from 4 p.m.-11 p.m.

New to the fair this year is a bike corral, where you can ride your bikes to the fair and save on parking. The bike corral is free. Hours are Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
