CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- A White House Advisor makes his way to the Veterans Affairs Clinic in Chippewa Falls.
Thursday afternoon VA White House Senior Advisor, Jake Leinenkugel, toured the clinic.
Leinenkugel says getting veterans proper care, particularily mental health care, is vital. He says it's so important area veterans are able to access care right here in the Chippewa Valley.
“Expand their services as far as meeting the needs for many Veterans that didn't have that, that would have to drive to either Minneapolis or south of Chippewa to Tomah, but now they're able to come here for their primary care and also right now they're able to access mental health care on site her in Chippewa Falls,” said Leinenkugel.
Leinenkugel has been the VA White House Senior Advisor for the past year and a half. He retired as president of Leinenkugel Brewery in 2014.
