CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- As the rising costs and availability of health care continues to be a major concern for many, a local manufacturing company is taking a big step to ensure their employees are taken care of.

TTM Technologies in Chippewa Falls is celebrating the grand opening of a new on-site health care center for employees. The new clinic is managed by Marathon health and will provide employees assistance with medical needs in a variety of ways.

"Pretty significant lab capabilities that we have so many labs we're able to do on site point of care labs. things like pregnancy tests," said Eric Schrumpf, Vice President of Marathon Health.

TTM has over a dozen locations nationwide. Chippewa Falls is the very first location to bring health care services straight to nearly 800 employees and their families. "It puts a lot of pressure on us. We need to make this successful and I believe it will be. The employees have been very receptive to it and the management team, we've gotten the support all the way up to the CEO," said Sheridan Welch, TTM's General Manager

Employees say they look forward to having this benefit. "Personally I will use it a lot when i'm sick so I wont have to as you said wont have to miss any work," said Cindy Ruf, TTM employee.

The new on site health center will be open 5 days a week to employees, functioning as a normal clinic. "The nurse practitioner can do full medical exams. She can write some prescriptions, refer people if they need specialty doctors, the physical therapist will be able to help people with any joint aches or pains that affect their mobility or interfere with their daily activities in life," said Welch.

TTM says the clinic will save employees on the cost of health care. Typical pricing for a clinic visit is just $30 for employees and their dependents.

"It's a huge cost savings for our employees And how are we affording it? We're looking at wellness and prevention. If we can caught the chronic diseases before you have to go to the hospital, it saves everybody money," said Welch.

TTM still offers employees health insurance so the clinic is an additional benefit.
