Local ice skating organization to hold charity skate event

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) -- January is National Skating Month, and one local organization is encouraging you to hit the ice.

Skate for a Cause and National Skate Day is taking place Monday, New Year's Day. from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena.
The Chippewa Figure Skating Club says it's a fundraising event and all proceeds will go to a local charity. The club says attendees can watch performances by club members. After the show a free skating session will take place.

Organizers say skates will be available to use during the event.
