Man accused of hitting and killing woman with his car is charged

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A man of accused of hitting and killing a woman with his vehicle is charged.

Eau Claire County court records show 31-year-old Donald Bass is charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while having a revoked license and causing death.

The criminal complaint says it happened on August 13 at 9:25pm on Menomonie Street and Carson Park Drive.

Police say Bass was driving a vehicle that hit 18-year-old Samantha Coyle as she was in the crosswalk.

The complaint goes on to say Bass said he was looking at a crowd people and hit Coyle.

Bass admitted that he didn't have a license and his operating privileges were revoked.

Coyle had a severe brain bleed and a broken leg.

She died August 18. Court records show a $1,000 cash bond for Bass was posted.
