EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A man has been arrested after police say he robbed a local restaurant.

It happened Friday at Mike’s Cheese Shack in Eau Claire. Witnesses say Zachary Forden, 23, went into the restaurant to order food and gave the cashier money. The worker said he appeared to be intoxicated. Witnesses say when the worker opened the register, he reached across the counter and grabbed cash out of the register and ran. When police found Forden, he denied being at Mike’s Cheese Shack and told officers he was originally from Arkansas and that he didn’t even like cheese, unless it is Swiss.

Forden could face a theft charge as well as disorderly conduct.
