DULUTH, Minn. (WEAU)-- Members of the United States Gold Medal men's curling team returned home on Monday.
Wisconsin's Matt Hamilton arrived at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison Monday morning. The United States won the gold medal Saturday against Sweden in South Korea.
Hamilton's teammates including American Skip, Jon Shuster arrived in Duluth Monday evening. The 35-year old says it's a thrill to finally deliver a gold medal for the red, white, and blue.
"This one was very historic and this one really has a chance to bring curling to a lot more people in our country on a much more regular basis and hopefully we're going to see more and more curling clubs pop up all over the country," says Shuster.
Shuster and the United States men's curling team won five straight matches including beating Canada twice in a week to capture the U.S. second Olympic medal. Shuster was part of the 2006 United States team that won bronze.
