UPDATE: Man in custody after domestic incident in Menomonie

MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Menomonie Police Department said a man was taken into custody around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday after a domestic incident.

According to a release, the Menomonie Police Department got a call just after 5 p.m. Wednesday for a domestic incident at 2724 Fryklund Drive.

Police received information a man was making threats to harm the victim in this incident. The man was reported to have left a lower apartment and was seen going into an apartment on the second story of the apartment complex. It was also believed that man had a gun.

Police said the victim is safe.

A police perimeter was set up in the area, and people were asked to stay inside their homes.

Just after 10:30 p.m., police said the man was taken into custody without incident.



MENOMONIE, Wis. (WEAU) -- The Menomonie Police Department is asking people living near the area of Fryklund Dr. to “shelter in place” because of “an ongoing police situation,” according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
