Police investigate shooting in Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WEAU) -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened in Wisconsin Rapids.

It happened around 6 p.m. in the 1200 block of High Street on Tuesday.
According to investigators, a 51-year-old man was shot. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The shooter, along with other people, left the scene in a vehicle.

Officers were at the scene for several hours, collecting evidence and talking to witnesses. They believe the incident was isolated. The shooting is still under investigation.
